On May 28, 2026, in Serock, the fifth edition of Polish Grain Day took place, bringing together over 300 participants representing 109 companies, institutions, and organizations from across Poland. Once again, the event created a unique platform for dialogue among participants from the entire agri-food supply chain, including grain producers, traders, processors, feed manufacturers, public administration representatives, and industry organizations.

The fifth edition of Polish Grain Day was held under the slogan: Farmers. Processors. Traders.

At the center of this year’s edition was the entire grain supply chain, which operates like a system of communicating vessels. From producers, through trade, to processing – each link plays a crucial role in the stability and security of the market.

The organizational partner of the fifth edition was the Polish Association of Cereal Crop Producers, which further emphasized the importance of cooperation across the entire sector.

Polish Grain Day 2026 confirmed its position as one of the most important industry events dedicated to the grain and feed sectors in Poland. The conference provided an opportunity for substantive discussion on the key challenges facing the market, such as geopolitical uncertainty, changing European regulations, food security, animal health, sustainability requirements, and the future competitiveness of the agricultural sector.

The event was officially opened by Monika Piątkowska, President of the Grain and Feed Chamber of Commerce and Senator of the Republic of Poland, who welcomed participants and emphasized the importance of cooperation and open dialogue between all links of the supply chain.

The keynote speech was delivered by Stefan Krajewski, who presented the current priorities of Polish agricultural policy and highlighted the strategic importance of ensuring resilience and competitiveness in the agri-food sector.

The conference program included a series of expert presentations prepared by distinguished representatives of public administration, European industry organizations, and market analysts:

• Paweł Meyer, Chief Veterinary Officer, presented current challenges and strategic directions of the Veterinary Inspectorate, with particular emphasis on animal health protection and feed safety.

• Nicolas Coudry-Mesny, President of the European Feed Manufacturers’ Federation (FEFAC), discussed key priorities shaping EU feed policy and the ongoing dialogue between the feed sector and European institutions.

• Przemysław Tronina from the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) presented the implications of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) for the Polish grain and feed sector.

• Hélène Duflot, grain market analyst at Ceras Analytics, presented an overview of the global grain market, analyzing the balance between geopolitical risk and fundamental market factors.

• Mirosław Marciniak, founder of InfoGrain, presented an assessment of the current grain market situation in Poland and the European Union.

The conference included two expert panels dedicated to the most important regulatory, market, and strategic challenges facing the grain and feed sectors.

The first panel, titled “EU Feed Policy – Directions of Change in Feed Market Policy,” focused on the future of the European feed sector and regulatory changes that will shape the industry in the coming years.

Participants included: Paweł Mackiewicz (Head of the Feed Department at the General Veterinary Inspectorate), Małgorzata Bojańczyk (Managing Director of the Polish Association of Plant Protection Industry – PSOR), Karol Owczarek (Risk Management and Purchasing Director at Cargill Poland), Wojciech Zarzycki (Vice President of the Grain and Feed Chamber of Commerce and Commercial Operations Director at Elanco Poland), and Adam Zaleski (CEO of De Heus Poland).

The discussion covered key priorities of European feed policy, including feed and food safety, sustainability requirements, environmental regulations, and the growing number of obligations imposed on feed producers. Participants debated the challenges arising from the implementation of new EU regulations, the need to maintain the competitiveness of the European feed sector, and the importance of a stable and predictable regulatory environment conducive to innovation, investment, and long-term resilience of the food supply chain. Particular attention was paid to the practical impact of legislative changes on companies operating across the supply chain, as well as the need for close cooperation between the industry and public administration to effectively implement new solutions and achieve shared policy goals.

The second panel, titled “Between Surplus and Crisis – the Grain Market in Times of Uncertainty,” focused on the current situation and outlook for the grain market in the context of growing geopolitical, economic, and regulatory challenges.

Participants included: Monika Piątkowska (President of the Grain and Feed Chamber of Commerce, Senator of the Republic of Poland), Mirosław Marciniak (founder of InfoGrain), Justyna Jasińska (President of the Polish Association of Cereal Crop Producers), and Mariusz Olejnik (President of the Opole Association of Agricultural Producers).

The discussion focused on the increasingly complex conditions affecting the grain market, including geopolitical tensions, shifts in trade flows, market volatility, and evolving legal regulations. Participants exchanged views on the challenges currently facing grain producers, traders, and processors, as well as the outlook for upcoming trading seasons. Particular attention was paid to the need to strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of the grain sector in an increasingly unpredictable market environment. The panelists also emphasized the importance of effective cooperation between producers, industry organizations, and policymakers in mitigating market disruptions, ensuring food security, and maintaining the long-term sustainability of grain production in Poland and across the European Union.

The conference was hosted by Dr. Piotr Łuczak, while both expert debates were moderated by Iwona Dyba, editor-in-chief of farmer.pl.

The fifth edition of Polish Grain Day once again demonstrated the importance of dialogue, cooperation, and knowledge exchange across the entire agri-food supply chain. By bringing together representatives of all key stakeholder groups, the event reaffirmed its role as an important forum for discussion on the future of the grain and feed sectors in Poland and Europe.
